iPod Shuffle joins the family

I bought my fourth iPod this week, completing the family of iPods that we have. This one is a 1GB iPod Shuffle, which joins the classic shaped, 60GB iPod with Video, 4GB iPod Nano (I bought this one for Deb), and the beautiful 8GB iPod Touch. Hopefully I can extend the family again next year [...]

Bloggers meetup in Wellington

Filed under: General — Stuart Maxwell @ 6:13 pm

There is another meetup for Wellington bloggers on Thursday, 29th (tomorrow) at the Southern Cross Bar on Abel Smith Street.
We’ve got the Cocaine Alley booked out for us, which is the area on the right when you walk in with two big tables and long benches. There’s a group and event posted on Facebook, but [...]

Site updates

Just a few site updates…

I’ve started putting all my photos back on Flickr which has been made much easier due to Windows Live Photo Gallery providing support for publishing direct to Flickr, including sets, tags, and descriptions. So I’ve re-enabled the FAlbum plugin which displays all my Flickr photos on this site: http://stuart.amanzi.co.nz/photos
I’ve updated [...]

I’m attending the Agile BarCamp in Wellington to learn more about Agile and how the Agile methodologies could be applied to projects that don’t necessarily relate to software development.
My (very simplified) understanding of Agile so far is that it is a framework around software development that focuses on delivering lots of smaller releases instead [...]

Well done Mauricio and Geekzone

Mauricio has just completed the upgrade of the Geekzone site and it is now running on Windows Server 2008 (RC0, I’m assuming.) This is a good showcase for Microsoft as Geekzone is in the top 15 NZ sites for unique visitors, according to Mauricio. Microsoft have already moved 75% of their servers on to Windows [...]

iPhone’s keyboard prone to higher text entry error rate

This article compares hard-key QWERTY phones such as the Blackberry to the iPhone’s (or iPod Touch) on-screen keyboard and discovers a higher error-rate on the iPhone. I have some opinions on the iPod Touch’s keyboard myself, but I’ll save those for another entry.
